Barbara Duffy — Tap Dancer

Barbara Duffy

        Barbara Duffy is “one of the most inventive tappers around…..”, said the late Gregory Hines. Barbara’s performance highlights include “THE GREGORY HINES SHOW”, where she was a featured dancer, actress and choreographer, “GALA FOR THE PRESIDENT”, performing with Gregory Hines before President and Mrs. Bill Clinton and as dance captain and featured dancer in Brenda Bufalino’s AMERICAN TAP DANCE ORCHESTRA.
        Barbara performs as a featured soloist across the United States and overseas, including London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, where she was hailed as “a riveting performer” by the Independent. Her all women ensemble, Barbara Duffy & Company has performed at the Duke Theatre, NYC, the Joyce Theater, NYC, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, NYC, the University of Richmond, the Tanz Haus Theatre in Dusseldorf, Germany, Jacob’s Pillow and with Tap City On Tour.
        A highly sought after teacher, Barbara has taught at numerous workshops and festivals in 20 countries. When not on the road, Barbara teaches classes in New York City at Broadway Dance Center and Steps On Broadway. Her greatest inspirations are Brenda Bufalino, the late Leon Collins and the late Gregory Hines.

Jay Anderson — Bass

Jay Anderson

       Bassist/composer Jay Anderson is among the most versatile and respected jazz artists performing today. He has performed/recorded with a wide range of jazz artists including Woody Herman, Carmen McRae, Michael Brecker, Paul Bley, Bob Mintzer, John Abercrombie, Dave Liebman, Joe Sample, Maria Schneider, Lee Konitz, Red Rodney, Ira Sullivan, Mike Stern, Anat Cohen, Toots Thielemans, Kenny Wheeler, Jay Clayton and non-jazz artists like Oswaldo Golijov, Dawn Upshaw, Michael Franks, Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, Chaka Khan, Michel Legrand, Allen Ginsberg, and Celine Dion. He has been featured on over 300 recordings, three of which have received the Grammy Award . He has conducted clinics around the world and is a Professor of Jazz Bass Studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Jay currently co-leads the critically acclaimed group BANN featuring Seamus Blake, Oz Noy and Adam Nussbaum.

Mark Soskin — Piano

Mark Soskin

       Mark Soskin was born July 12, 1953 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Soskin has recorded and performed with such diverse musicians as Sonny Rollins, Joe Henderson, Randy Brecker, Billy Cobham, Buster Williams, Eddie Henderson, Stanley Turrentine,Cornell Dupree, Herbie Mann, John Abercrombie, Claudio Roditi, Sheila Jordan,Gato Barbieri, Joe Locke, David"Fathead"Newman, Mark Murphy, Slide Hampton, Pete and Sheila Escovedo, Bobby Watson, Miroslav Vitous, The NY Voices and others.
       Soskin signed his first recording contract with Prestige (a subsidiary of Fantasy) produced by Keepnews, entitled "Rhythm Vision." This featured the likes of Benny Maupin and Harvey Mason with the album eventually making it into Billboard's top ten Jazz Chart. Keepnews introduced Soskin to Sonny Rollins, which started a long, fruitful collaboration (14 years). Besides the extensive touring throughout the world, Soskin can be heard on a number of critically acclaimed recordings with the tenor sax master, including a video,"Saxophone Collosus”.
       Soskin has been on the faculty of The Manhattan School of Music for 13 years. In addition, he teaches privately and gives masterclasses throughout the world. He has 11 recordings as a leader and is currently signed with the Kindofblue label. His most recent critically acclaimed release is “Man Behind The Curtain” with Ravi Coltrane, Bill Stewart and Jay Anderson. Soskin has been featured in solo concerts such as the Ottawa Jazz Festival.

Tim Horner — Drums

Tim Horner

       Tim Horner has been one of New York City’s most in demand jazz drummers. Some of the artists he has worked with include: Hank Jones, The Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra, The Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Ted Nash among many other jazz greats. Tim currently teaches at New Jersey City University and has a new recording out as a leader entitled, The Places We Feel Free”.
